Most users of light sensor switches usually think that this type of switch is simply used to turn lights ON at night and automatically turn them OFF in the morning. Few people think about setting the light to turn OFF at 10 PM or 12 midnight to save electricity.

Some electricians often use a timer switch to set the light to turn ON at 7 PM and turn OFF at 12 midnight. However, this often causes the following problems:

In winter and spring, the light turns ON too late, when it is already dark.

In summer and autumn, the light turns ON too early while it is still bright, and in the early morning, the light may already be OFF even though it is still dark.

The solution commonly recommended by electricians and lighting designers is to use one light sensor combined with one timer device, allowing the light to turn ON as soon as it gets dark and automatically turn OFF at 10 PM or 12 midnight according to the preset schedule.

However, this method increases costs and makes installation more complicated. Therefore, many installers either refuse this solution or only recommend using a timer switch.

LS20A-TIME is a light sensor switch capable of detecting changes in ambient light. It automatically turns the light ON when it gets dark and turns it OFF when it becomes bright.

The LUX adjustment knob can be flexibly adjusted from 3 to 200 Lux, allowing the light to turn ON according to the user’s preference. If you want the light to turn ON just after sunset while there is still some ambient light, simply set it to around 100 Lux. If you want the light to turn ON only when it is completely dark, set the Lux level lower, to around 10–20 Lux.

The device also integrates a countdown timer function, allowing users to select the automatic switch-off time after the light turns ON, from 1 hour, 2 hours, and so on up to 12 hours, using an easy-to-adjust linear control knob.
