FEATURES OF THE KAWASAN PRESENCE SENSOR SWITCH

The KW-PS03BR presence sensor switch operates at 24GHz combined with Ultrasonic technology. It detects body signals together with human breathing and heartbeat, or animals with frequencies and breathing patterns similar to humans. When body movement and breathing are detected within the sensing area, the device activates a signal to the switch (relay) to turn on the light. It is not affected by ambient temperatures above 32°C (unlike infrared sensor switches). The presence sensor can also detect through wooden partitions, glass, thin walls, plasterboard, and more.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS OF THE PRESENCE SENSOR

The KW-PS03BR presence sensor is mainly used with lights, fans, exhaust fans, and air conditioners to automatically turn them on and keep them operating while someone is present, then automatically turn off the power 30 seconds after no one is detected in the sensing area. Compared with microwave or infrared sensors, which often require a minimum delay time of more than 5 minutes to maintain relatively stable operation, the light may still turn off if a person remains completely still or falls asleep during those 5 minutes.

With the PS03BR presence sensor’s fixed detection radius of 3m, the device operates more effectively and stably, helping prevent lights from turning ON/OFF randomly due to body movement being detected through obstacles such as room doors or partitions between rooms. This helps avoid uncontrolled switching. An exception is public restrooms with partitions, where this feature can be very effective. Unlike microwave sensor switches using radar technology, which can detect human movement over a wider range of 3m to 10m, microwave sensors may operate unstably if the detection range is set too far in meeting rooms, bedrooms, waiting rooms, showrooms, and similar spaces with an area of less than 30m² and partitions made of glass, plasterboard, wood, and more.

  1. Technology

Microwave Sensor: Uses 5.8GHz radar sensing technology. Kawasan Presence Sensor: Uses Ultrasonic technology, capable of detecting human heartbeat and breathing.

  1. Sensitivity

Microwave Sensor: Requires a minimum level of movement, such as nodding, shaking the head, or moving the entire arm or leg. Kawasan Presence Sensor: Detects the presence of the human body through breathing and heartbeat activity.

  1. Detection Distance

Microwave Sensor: Has a long detection range with a maximum radius of 10m and a minimum of 3–4m, adjustable using the control knob on the device. Kawasan Presence Sensor: Has a fixed maximum detection radius of 3m and cannot be adjusted. Because of its high sensitivity, a longer range may cause unstable operation. Ultrasonic sensing can pass through glass, wood, plastic, and thin walls, making it easy to continuously detect surrounding movement signals and keep the light permanently ON.

  1. Applications

Presence sensors can be used in patient rooms, children’s bedrooms where lights are often forgotten, and for controlling air conditioners in meeting rooms, bedrooms, and similar spaces. When everyone leaves the room, the power supply will automatically turn off and the air conditioner will also shut down. When someone is sleeping in the bedroom, the air conditioner will continue operating. Microwave sensors are not suitable for these situations because when a person is sleeping or sitting still without movement, the light or air conditioner may turn off. Even if the microwave sensor’s time delay is set to the maximum of 30 minutes (if body movement is detected within those 30 minutes, the sensor will automatically extend operation for another 30 minutes), the light or air conditioner may still turn off if the person remains completely still for 30 consecutive minutes.

  • Turn off the power before connecting the device
  • Connect the power cord and load for the sensor as shown in the diagram (Teminal N and L connect to the 220V power source, N and L' to the lamp)

SOME COMMON PROBLEMS AND HOW TO FIX THEM

  • The load does not work (the light bulb does not light up):

  1. Check if there is power to the light bulb connected to the sensor?
  2. Check to see if the light bulb has any problems?
  3. Check whether the Lux adjustment button is suitable for the working light of the environment?

  • Poor sensitivity:

  • The sensor cannot automatically turn off the load (the light does not turn off):

Với chức năng cố định bán kính cảm ứng trong vòng 3m của cảm ứng hiện diện PS03BR. Thiết bị làm việc hiệu quả và ổn định hơn, tránh được các trường hợp đèn tự bật tắt ngẫu nhiên, do sự nhận diện thân nhiệt di chuyển xuyên qua vật cản như cánh cửa phòng, vách ngăn giữa các phòng…làm cho bật tắt không kiểm soát được. Trừ trường hợp các nhà vệ sinh công cộng có vách ngăn thì rất hiệu quả.

Không giống các công tắc cảm ứng vi sóng dùng cảm biến Rada, có thể cảm nhận tín hiệu người di chuyển rộng (từ 3m đến 10m). Khi người dùng chỉnh độ xa quá cao, cảm biến vi sóng sẽ làm việc không ổn định nếu lắp trong các phòng họp, phòng ngủ, phòng chờ, showroom… Có diện tích nhỏ (<30m2) và có các vách ngăn bằng kính, thạch cao, gỗ…

Độ nhạy cao nên nếu quá xa sẽ làm cho cảm ứng hoạt động không ổn định, vì với cảm ứng siêu âm có thể xuyên qua được vách kính, gỗ, nhựa và tường mỏng. Dễ gây cảm ứng nhận được các tín hiệu chuyển động xung quanh liên tục, gây cho cảm ứng luôn bật đèn.

Cảm ứng hiện diện có thể dùng được cho phòng bênh nhân, phòng ngủ cho trẻ em (thường quên tắt đèn khi ra ngoài, lắp cho máy điều hòa trong phòng họp, phòng ngủ…). Để khi ra khỏi phòng là nguồn điện sẽ tự tắt, máy điều hòa tự động tắt nguồn. Khi có người nằm ngủ trong phòng ngủ thì máy điều hòa vẫn hoạt động.

Cảm ứng ví sóng không dùng được trong các tình huống trên, vì khi nằm ngủ hoặc ngồi không cửa động thì đèn / điều hòa sẽ tắt. Dù cho chỉnh thời gian trễ trên cảm ứng vi sóng lên tối đa 30 phút (trong thời gian 30 phút có 1 chuyển động cơ thể thì cảm ứng sẽ tự kích hoạt thêm 30 phút tiếp theo). Nhưng khi nằm ngủ không cử động liên tục 30 phút thì đèn / điều hòa sẽ tắt.

    Lắp cho đèn phòng ngủ rất tuyệt, đặc biệt là phòng trẻ em, người già, chỉ cần chỉnh Time lên 3-5 phút, đèn luôn sáng khi có người trong phòng, kể cả đang ngủ, khi ra khỏi phòng 2-3 phút đèn tắt. Nếu đi ngủ thì tắt đi, coi như mỗi ngày chỉ tắt khi đi ngủ.

FEATURES OF THE KAWASAN PRESENCE SENSOR SWITCH

The KW-PS03BR presence sensor switch operates at 24GHz combined with Ultrasonic technology. It detects body signals together with human breathing and heartbeat, or animals with frequencies and breathing patterns similar to humans. When body movement and breathing are detected within the sensing area, the device activates a signal to the switch (relay) to turn on the light. It is not affected by ambient temperatures above 32°C (unlike infrared sensor switches). The presence sensor can also detect through wooden partitions, glass, thin walls, plasterboard, and more.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS OF THE PRESENCE SENSOR

The KW-PS03BR presence sensor is mainly used with lights, fans, exhaust fans, and air conditioners to automatically turn them on and keep them operating while someone is present, then automatically turn off the power 30 seconds after no one is detected in the sensing area. Compared with microwave or infrared sensors, which often require a minimum delay time of more than 5 minutes to maintain relatively stable operation, the light may still turn off if a person remains completely still or falls asleep during those 5 minutes.

Với chức năng cố định bán kính cảm ứng trong vòng 3m của cảm ứng hiện diện PS03BR. Thiết bị làm việc hiệu quả và ổn định hơn, tránh được các trường hợp đèn tự bật tắt ngẫu nhiên, do sự nhận diện thân nhiệt di chuyển xuyên qua vật cản như cánh cửa phòng, vách ngăn giữa các phòng…làm cho bật tắt không kiểm soát được. Trừ trường hợp các nhà vệ sinh công cộng có vách ngăn thì rất hiệu quả.

Không giống các công tắc cảm ứng vi sóng dùng cảm biến Rada, có thể cảm nhận tín hiệu người di chuyển rộng (từ 3m đến 10m). Khi người dùng chỉnh độ xa quá cao, cảm biến vi sóng sẽ làm việc không ổn định nếu lắp trong các phòng họp, phòng ngủ, phòng chờ, showroom… Có diện tích nhỏ (<30m2) và có các vách ngăn bằng kính, thạch cao, gỗ…

  1. Technology

Cảm ứng vi sóng. Dùng công nghệ cảm ứng rada tần số 5.8Ghz .

Cảm ứng hiện diện Kawasan. Dùng công nghệ sóng siêu âm Ultrasonic, cảm ứng được nhịp tim và nhịp thở của người.

  1. Sensitivity

Cảm ứng vi sóng. Cần sự chuyển động tối thiểu qua các hành động như: gật đầu, lắc đầy hoặc di chuyển của cả cánh tay hoặc chân.

Cảm ứng hiện diện Kawasan. Cảm ứng  được sự hiện diện của cơ thể người, thông qua các nhịp thở, nhip đập của tim hoạt động.

  1. Detection Distance

Cảm ứng vi sóng. Khoảng cách xa với bán kính tối đa 10m và tối thiểu 3-4m, có thể chỉnh được thông qua biến trở vặn trên thiết bị.

Cảm ứng hiện diện Kawasan chỉ cho giới hạn bán kính tối đa 3m, không điều chỉnh được. Độ nhạy cao nên nếu quá xa sẽ làm cho cảm ứng hoạt động không ổn định, vì với cảm ứng siêu âm có thể xuyên qua được vách kính, gỗ, nhựa và tường mỏng. Dễ gây cảm ứng nhận được các tín hiệu chuyển động xung quanh liên tục, gây cho cảm ứng luôn bật đèn.

  1. Applications

Cảm ứng hiện diện có thể dùng được cho phòng bênh nhân, phòng ngủ cho trẻ em (thường quên tắt đèn khi ra ngoài, lắp cho máy điều hòa trong phòng họp, phòng ngủ…). Để khi ra khỏi phòng là nguồn điện sẽ tự tắt, máy điều hòa tự động tắt nguồn. Khi có người nằm ngủ trong phòng ngủ thì máy điều hòa vẫn hoạt động.

Cảm ứng ví sóng không dùng được trong các tình huống trên, vì khi nằm ngủ hoặc ngồi không cửa động thì đèn / điều hòa sẽ tắt. Dù cho chỉnh thời gian trễ trên cảm ứng vi sóng lên tối đa 30 phút (trong thời gian 30 phút có 1 chuyển động cơ thể thì cảm ứng sẽ tự kích hoạt thêm 30 phút tiếp theo). Nhưng khi nằm ngủ không cử động liên tục 30 phút thì đèn / điều hòa sẽ tắt.

CAN THE PRESENCE SENSOR BE INSTALLED FOR AIR CONDITIONERS IN BEDROOMS AND MEETING ROOMS?

A special application of this presence sensor switch is that it can be used for air conditioners in bedrooms, waiting rooms, and more. Note: If installed for an inverter air conditioner with a power rating above 750W, an additional single-phase contactor should be installed (Kawasan KWC-25A, with a slim design similar to a 1-module circuit breaker and can be recessed inside the air conditioner).     Lắp cho đèn phòng ngủ rất tuyệt, đặc biệt là phòng trẻ em, người già, chỉ cần chỉnh Time lên 3-5 phút, đèn luôn sáng khi có người trong phòng, kể cả đang ngủ, khi ra khỏi phòng 2-3 phút đèn tắt. Nếu đi ngủ thì tắt đi, coi như mỗi ngày chỉ tắt khi đi ngủ.
