INTRODUCTION TO THE KW-PS04BR PRESENCE SENSOR SWITCH

The KW-PS04BR presence sensor switch operates at 24GHz combined with Ultrasonic technology, detecting body signals together with human breathing and heartbeat, or animals with similar frequencies and breathing patterns. When body movement and breathing are detected within the sensing area, the device sends a signal to the switch (relay) to turn on the light. It is not affected by ambient temperatures above 32°C like infrared sensor switches. The presence sensor can also detect through wooden partitions, glass, thin walls, plasterboard, and more.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS OF THE PRESENCE SENSOR

The KW-PS04BR presence sensor is mainly used with lights, fans, exhaust fans, and air conditioners. It automatically turns devices on and keeps them operating when someone is present, then automatically cuts off the power 30 seconds after no one is detected in the sensing area. Compared with microwave or infrared sensors, which often require a minimum delay time of more than 5 minutes to maintain relatively stable operation, the light may still turn off if someone remains completely still or falls asleep during those 5 minutes.

With the PS04BR presence sensor’s fixed detection radius of within 3m, the device operates more effectively and stably, helping avoid cases where lights randomly turn ON/OFF due to body movement being detected through obstacles such as room doors or partitions between rooms, causing uncontrolled switching. An exception is public restrooms with partitions, where this feature is very effective.

Không giống các công tắc cảm ứng vi sóng dùng cảm biến Rada. Có thể cảm nhận tín hiệu người di chuyển rộng (từ 3m đến 10m). Khi người dùng chỉnh độ xa quá cao, cảm biến vi sóng sẽ làm việc không ổn định nếu lắp trong các phòng họp, phòng ngủ, phòng chờ, showroom… Có diện tích nhỏ (<30m2) và có các vách ngăn bằng kính, thạch cao, gỗ…

Cảm biến hiện diện này có chức năng điều chỉnh độ LUX (sáng/tối). Khi vị trí lắp đặt có ánh sáng mặt trời chiếu sáng vào thì PS04BR sẽ nhận diện được độ sáng đã đạt mức cài đặt (nếu chỉnh tại vị trí 60lux). Cảm ứng hiện diện sẽ không cho đèn bật. Khi nào trời chuyển mưa hoặc mặt trời lặn, ánh sách không đủ (<60lux) thì cảm biến mới bật công tắc cho đèn sáng lên.

KW-PS04BR có đặc tính phát hiện sự hiện diện liên tục. Thời gian mở đèn được di trì trong khoảng thời gian cài đặt (tối thiểu 30 giây, tối đa 10 phút). Khi không còn sự di chuyển hoặc sự hiện diện nào của cơ thể người trong vùng quét của sóng siêu âm (sóng Ultrasonic) thì thiết bị sẽ nhả công tắc (nhả Relay) và thiết bị đầu ra sẽ tắt.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF THE KW-PS04BR SWITCH

Ứng dụng đặc biệt của công tắc cảm ứng hiện diện này là có thể dùng cho máy điều hòa trong phòng ngủ, phòng chờ… Khi có người trong phòng thì máy điều hòa luôn duy trì nguồn điện cấp cho máy điều hòa. Ngay cả khi ngôi im bất động hoặc nằm ngủ thì máy điều hòa vẫn hoạt động bình thường. Nhưng khi không còn ai trong phòng thì sẽ tự tắt nguồn máy điều hòa. Giúp tiết kiệm tối đa chi phí điện năng và tăng tuổi thọ cho thiết bị, vì không phải duy trì nguồn điện cấp cho thiết bị.

Chú ý nếu lắp cho máy điều hòa inverter có công suất trên 750w thì cần lắp thêm khởi động loại 1 pha (thiết kế mỏng bằng CB 1 tép của Kawasan KWC-25A, có thể đặt âm trong máy điều hòa). Đảm bảo độ bền của cảm ứng hiện diện.

 Versatile Applications

Presence Sensor: Can be used in patient rooms and children’s bedrooms, where users often forget to turn off the lights when leaving. It can also be installed for air conditioners in meeting rooms and bedrooms so that when everyone leaves the room, the power supply automatically turns off and the air conditioner shuts down. When someone is sleeping in the bedroom, the air conditioner continues operating normally.

Microwave Sensor: : Not suitable for the situations above because when a person is sleeping or sitting still without movement, the light or air conditioner may turn off. Even if the microwave sensor’s time delay is set to the maximum of 30 minutes (if body movement is detected within those 30 minutes, the sensor will automatically extend operation for another 30 minutes), the light or air conditioner may still turn off if the person remains completely still for 30 consecutive minutes.

COMPARISON BETWEEN MICROWAVE SENSORS AND PRESENCE SENSORS

1. Technology

Microwave Sensor. Uses 5.8GHz radar sensing technology.

Kawasan Presence Sensor: Uses Ultrasonic technology, capable of detecting human heartbeat and breathing.

2. Sensitivity

Microwave Sensor: Requires a minimum level of movement through actions such as nodding, shaking the head, or moving the entire arm or leg.

Kawasan Presence Sensor:. Detects the presence of the human body through breathing and heartbeat activity.

3. Detection Distance

Microwave Sensor: Has a detection radius of 2–6m, adjustable using the control knob on the device.

Kawasan Presence Sensor: Has a maximum detection radius of only 2m and cannot be adjusted. Because of its high sensitivity, a longer detection range may cause unstable operation. Ultrasonic sensing can pass through glass, wood, plastic, and thin walls, making it easy to continuously detect surrounding movement signals and keep the light permanently ON.

4. Applications
